The Minecraft Trial Update – A Thrilling New Addition to the Game

The trial update is a thrilling new addition to Minecraft, adding in-game structures that challenge players with high-stakes combat and unique loot. Players can tackle these chambers by activating trial spawners, and the more they complete them, the more powerful loot they will receive – such as new Banner Patterns, Music Discs, Smithing Templates, and a Heavy Core that is used to craft a brand-new Mace weapon.

Along with Trial Chambers, the update also introduces mobs like the Breeze, and other gameplay tweaks and improvements including Decorated Pots that can be smashed for loot, Supply Chests between trial rooms, and a new Block called the Breeze Rod, which can be used to craft Flow Armor Trim Smithing Templates and the new Wind Charges. This update also includes a new melee weapon, the mace, which can be crafted using a Breeze Rod and Heavy Core, and can be used at height to perform a smash attack that increases its damage based on the number of blocks you are falling from.

The Trial Update also adds a new option for advanced trials, known as Ominous Trials. These are a series of opt-in challenges that can be activated by drinking an in-game Ominous Bottle, found by defeating raid captains or in the Ominous Vaults that unlock within Trial Chambers. When activated, Ominous Trials will cause the trial spawners in your vicinity to spew out tougher mobs (and better armor), and can also trigger village raids throughout the Overworld.
